No, but we do pass around sign-up sheets for those that have time to spare. It can be event specific and be as little or as much time as you have to offer. There is no pressure to volunteer.
We discuss, learn, and help plan upcoming school events, vote on any purchases that need to be made, listen to teacher requests and guest speakers, and get to know other Ardenwald parents.
We meet the first Monday of each month in the library. PTO meetings run from 6:00-7:30 pm. Dates are sent through ParentSquare and on the Ardenwald web page calendar.
If you are a parent/guardian of a child at Ardenwald, then you are a part of the “PTO”. There is a PTO Board, consisting of a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. These are elected, one-year positions, and there are also non-board positions, as well.
“PTA” stands for “Parent Teacher Association” and to be a member of that Association it requires a yearly fee of $500. Our “PTO” which stands for “Parent Teacher Organization” requires no fees, so all the monies raised and donated stay at Ardenwald. We don’t pay any unnecessary fees.
